Sport? Activity? Skill? "It's more than a hobby. Part art, part craft, part community-building activity," Dan Pashman told NPR. Master pen spinner Kam Kou would go as far as calling pen spinning a lifestyle. In Japan and Korea, pen spinning has become an art form, culminating in the Pen Spinning World Cup 2008. Kam Kuo, who began pen spinning when he was 13 and has been doing it for 15 years, has an international following and an endorsement deal with a new line of pens, Spinz. Pen spinning: not just for entertaining yourself in class anymore.
